Dreaming: An Incentive Given by God

Posted by Mr. JuanStep

The ALMIGHTY FATHER gave us, human beings, some INCENTIVES in life. One of those is DREAMING. As weak human beings, we should maximize the abilities given to us. We should not put limitations to it, for with God, "IMPOSSIBLE" is an extinct word. He gave us this ability in his own likeness, so who are we to put limits to it? Maximizing the blessings given to us by our Creator is such an action pleasing to his eyes.

With DREAMING comes PAIN. All these years, you have been badly striving to attain what you want. Then in a minute, the sweat of your brow diminishes with air. Isn't that tremendously PAINFUL? On the other hand, pain is a STEPPING STONE in life. It's just that now's not your time. God has plans for you, and He has reasons for your not-so-good turning points in life.

With DREAMING come BLOOD and SWEAT. Dreaming is not only believing in what you like. It is also WORKING for what you like. It goes with an infamous Filipino saying: "Kung walang isinuksok, walang mahuhugot!" Your ambition won't run after you. You’re the one who is gonna run after it. You will result to nothing if you just sit back and relax. Unfortunately, you gotta work HARD!

With DREAMING comes PRAYING. God created us, and he's the one who can truly help us when bad times come. He knows the right PATH to take - when to turn left, when to turn right, and when to stop. Not one of us has a MAP, but he has! When we put all our faith in him, we will see how his LOVE nourishes us in our everyday lives and in attaining our dream.

GOD is good. He loves us. He manifests his love for us in many ways, and one of which is by giving us the POWER to DREAM. With proper recipes and ingredients, impossible is nothing. The ability to dream is a great freebie in this world. So why would you put limitations to it? When you dream, dream BIG! When you dream, dream as COLOSSAL as you can!

How a Corrupt Politician’s Mind speaks with its Conscience

Posted by Mr. JuanStep

Mind: *sings* MONEY MONEY MONEY

Conscience: Why do you like money that much?

M: Because it gives me POWER.

C: How does it give you power?

M: You know. Money is the talk of the town. Whoever has the most is the KING. Money money money…

C: What’s your business?

M: Business?

C: Business, the way to earn money.

M: I don’t have any business.

C: Well then, how do you earn money?

M: Well, it’s called KICKBACK. *winks*

C: Kickback?

M: To simplify it, I keep most of the funds of my project for MYSELF.

C: You’re stealing?

M: Actually, yes. *whispers* CORRUPTION!

C: Poor people suffer because you rob the money that should be for them. Don’t you feel bad about it?

M: Naaah. *sings* money money money…

C: What about the promises you've made to the people? You've said you’ll give them job, food, shelter and clothing.

M: I’m a smooth-talker, you know. I don’t have any problems regarding that.

C: Don’t you feel GUILTY? I’m here to make you feel guilty whenever you do something wrong.

M: Never. I never minded your presence.

C: How mean.

M: *slaps Conscience!*

C: Damn you!

M: *sings* MONEY MONEY MONEY

The Power of Believing

Posted by Mr. JuanStep

LIFE is a zigzag road which ends up at the top of a mountain. You got to turn right, turn left, and then turn right again while the engine of your car chases its frenetic breathing because of the STEEP road - one MISTAKE, then you’ll see your corpse crushed in your totally wrecked automobile.

At some point of your life, you will wake up inside a tunnel seeing only one POINT OF LIGHT.

Sometimes you’ll realize that you’re on a road that seems to have NO END.

Because the DARKNESS is 99% of what you see and the point of light is only 1%, it’s very hard to look at it. Because you don’t see the DESTINATION and all you see is a road, it’s very hard to look at it. Because it’s very hard to look at those, it’s very hard to have HOPE.

Life will become PERILOUS when hope turns into hatred and anger. The number of victims is growing day by day. Some say “Better KILL myself than be in this horrible life.”

What’s the SECRET to survive? NEVER STOP BELIEVING.

Until you see a point of light, never stop running for no matter how SMALL that light is, you WILL reach it. Look at the light instead of the darkness, and you will see how HOPE does its job.

Until you see a road, never stop running for no matter how FAR your destination is, you WILL reach it. Always think about the JOY your destination will bring you; indeed, you will endure the PAIN brought by the road.

It reminds me of a line from the book The Little Prince: "What makes the desert beautiful," says the little prince "is that somewhere it hides a well."

We, Filipino people, face a pile of PROBLEMS. They are problems that are very hard to solve, for it's very difficult to determine where to START. Do we need to have a new LEADER? new CONSTITUTION? new LAWS? However difficult we think about it, it is still very complex to have an ANSWER. Nevertheless, we should never stop believing that we WILL have a bright future. Whichever path we'll take, we should do nothing but BELIEVE, BELIEVE and BELIEVE.

Which do you think should we change: the administration, the constitution, the laws, or OURSELVES?

Starting Things Right

Posted by Mr. JuanStep

Today is the first day of school, and I have to START things right. Since my blog is about CHANGE, I myself have to change some not-so-nice things in myself.

It’s essential to have a FRESH start; thus, I made a list of changes that I WILL hopefully accomplish. I call it, MY 10 NEW SCHOOL YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:

1. I will stop from being INSENSITIVE to the Philippines’ problems and special events; thus, I will regularly continue updating JUAN STEP.

2. I will organize a daily time plan in order to attend to all my DUTIES and responsibilities.

3. I will be more ACTIVE in school activities and events.

4. I will not let a school day pass without visiting the BLESSED SACRAMENT.

5. I will always try to do my ordinary duties EXTRAORDINARILY well.

6. I will participate in extra-curricular activities such as seminars which will hone my PERSONALITY and skills.

7. I will weekly engage in sports like Badminton and Basketball to keep my body HEALTHY.

8. I will always watch news in TV, and read news blogs to keep myself updated about the latest happenings in our COUNTRY.

9. I will VOLUNTEER myself to help in big and small things such as making our classroom’s bulletin board.

10. I will make a list of my New School Year’s Resolutions that will serve as my GOALS to accomplish for the whole year.

Since this is my last year in high school, I want to make the MOST out of it. I want to make this the most MEMORABLE year in my high school life. Even though I’ll be more pressured in school, I’m now ready to take new RESPONSIBILITIES. I know I will enjoy, for I will take those as challenges that will make me BETTER and that will make this school year more EXCITING.

GOOD LUCK to me and to all my fellow students!
