Pornography Terminators

Is it right to say that PORNOGRAPHY is inevitable nowadays? Go to a store that sells newspaper, and you’ll see INDECENT stories and pictures in tabloids. Go to a street where sidewalk vendors dominate, and you’ll see SEX VIDEOS in all its forms. Go to the web and search about porno, and the PORNOGRAPHY WORLD will unfold itself before your eyes.

One thing’s for sure, with TECHNOLOGY comes PORNOGRAPHY. In a seminar I attended few months ago, a representative from Google said that the word “SEX” was the most searched word in their search engine. Just one click, anyone at any age can engage in IMMORALITY. No one can control the situation because the internet is a world where there are NO BOUNDARIES. As Technology widens its dimensions, the problem about Pornography grows tougher and tougher.

The Hayden Kho sex scandal was the most recent issue that has been bugging showbiz and media in the Philippines. Because of its impact, it has reached the SENATE. And now senators are striving to pass a law – the ANTI-CYBER BOSO BILL.

The bill is quite IMPOSSIBLE to be implemented effectively. Why? It’s because the servers of Pornographic sites are scattered all over the GLOBE. Yes they can stop the servers that are based in the Philippines, but how about the servers residing in USA?

The senators a.k.a. PORNOGRAPHY TERMINATORS face a big wall of problems. They should not waste time making such a law that can’t actually be used.

The problem about Pornography should be considered a GLOBAL PROBLEM that needs a GLOBAL SOLUTION.

I agree that it is useless to come up with a law that is unimplementable. The basic issue is the question: "Is pornography bad or no?" What is basic is the knowledge of whether pornography is indeed bad or not personally as well as socially.

If it has a bad consequence to the person indugling in it say to me, then I personally should do something to avoid it. Then if I know that it has a bad consequence to me, I would know that it must have a bad consequence universally to others who indulge in pornography. Then I would also share my knowledge or experiences on the painful effects of pornography.

If it does not have bad direct consequence to the person, does it lead me however to the destruction of society to whatever degree, or not?

Jose Miguel, as every Filipino knows, Pornography is bad. For the people in US, maybe it's not. However, we cannot blame them because that is a part of their culture. Here in the Philippines', such kind of immorality is not a part.

There is a bad effect to the person engaging in Pornography especially if he's young. His innocent mind will be corrupted by immorality.

No one knows, maybe when he becomes an adult, he will be one of the rapists here in our country. Thus, Pornography also has a bad effect to our society.

As to your statement regarding pornography being immoral, why don't you: define immorality; what credible concrete examples of consequences of pornography to support your statement that first, it is immoral, second that immoral means bad consequence.

I am saying this to enable you to convince non-believers of the bad consequence of immorality which, as you said categorized pornography.

I am just sharing to you lessons I learned when I was a student. I prepared a report with statments and a conclusion. My professor told me that I should support my statments with facts or documented facts. It was to influence me not only in my written works but in my ordinary daily conversations with people.

I agree with you that pornography is bad. I have experienced it myself. This needs another post for elaboration however.

Firstly, Pornography is a form of Adultery which means that it violates the 6th commandment of God "You shall not commit adultery." Thus, it is immoral. What is Immorality? In my own words, it involves actions that are against the personal and social ethics. Pornography is against the personal ethics, social ethics and the CULTURE of our country.

Second, it corrupts the innocent minds of young people. Instead of doing their daily responsibilities, they engage in Pornography.

What is the bad effect? The best example that I can give you as of the present time is Hayden Kho. He recorded and kept sex videos of him, having sex with other girls. When he was asked why he did such a thing, he can't answer anything. Will he do such a thing without any reason? The main root of his actions is most probably Pornography. His mind was corrupted by Immorality. Like him, Pornography watchers can be turned into SEX ADDICTS when they grow up.

Moreover, it abuses women. In sex videos, women are more abused. Their dignities are being stepped on whenever someone watches their videos.

I hope that I already explained my point.

Keep up with your good work. Let us never stop working hard in discovering our mistakes, correcting them towards perfection.

I see your points: it destroys our sense of responsibility; it is a form of adultery and corruption of our otherwise pure mind regarding ourself, women and our need to love other people; and it leads to sex addiction; and it destroys society.

I agree based on having analyzed it and on experience.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are moving towards contributing something to saving our vulnerable youth from a damaged future.

Pornography is part of the modern world and it become harmless if we just let it be. The more these "moralist" senators get into the picture, the dirtier it becomes. To tell you honestly, i have more respect for porn stars than for politicians. I see porn stars as artists in their own right, whereas politicians are masters in the art (if you consider it as art) of hypocrisy.

Man is naturally curious about sex that is why "sex" is the most searched term in Google. But what is wrong with wanting to know about it? Sex is a natural thing, why think that it is dirty? Some people put sex in a box which should not be. Sex is something deeper than how "moralists" see it. I know that most of those who view porn as dirty are just not really in touch with their souls. Hypocrisy is like blight that slowly kills the natural beauty of humanity.

Pornography is salient to film as much as feces is salient to fecal-analysis on hospitals.

The rise of porn during the sexual revolution (USA and Europe, 1970s) have caused a great controversy because of it graphic nature. EROTICA LITERATURE in the 1800s were as controversial as the 1970s phenomena though it was rendered mostly written form.

Pornography, i believe, is not a global problem nor needs a global solution, even a country's problem. It is a problem of history. but of course, we cannot change the past and erase all of erotic literature of the victorian age or the Kamasutra of the indian history. It is a component that we must live with because it continually challenges our moral fiber.

I am almost amaze when i first encountered the AVN AWARDS (Adult video news), the oscars of porn, and there is a word that really changed my mind of pornography: INDUSTRY. yes, it is an industry, with people hiring people to do jobs [if not blowjobs ;-)]. and also the word: ADULT.

erotic stuff is a component of our lives as human beings. though we may assume to be the most intelligent animal of the human planet we still are animals by nature. Eroticism, thanks to our complex brains, is perhaps only an auxiliary to sex and should not be central to it.

One must be wary of one's DOGMATIC view, especially when one talks about morality. The dynamics of morality and sex comes a long way. Ethics itself is one of the most problematic areas of philosophy because it has yet settled on conclusive terms on what is morally wrong and what is morally correct.
