Starting Things Right

Posted by Mr. JuanStep

Today is the first day of school, and I have to START things right. Since my blog is about CHANGE, I myself have to change some not-so-nice things in myself.

It’s essential to have a FRESH start; thus, I made a list of changes that I WILL hopefully accomplish. I call it, MY 10 NEW SCHOOL YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:

1. I will stop from being INSENSITIVE to the Philippines’ problems and special events; thus, I will regularly continue updating JUAN STEP.

2. I will organize a daily time plan in order to attend to all my DUTIES and responsibilities.

3. I will be more ACTIVE in school activities and events.

4. I will not let a school day pass without visiting the BLESSED SACRAMENT.

5. I will always try to do my ordinary duties EXTRAORDINARILY well.

6. I will participate in extra-curricular activities such as seminars which will hone my PERSONALITY and skills.

7. I will weekly engage in sports like Badminton and Basketball to keep my body HEALTHY.

8. I will always watch news in TV, and read news blogs to keep myself updated about the latest happenings in our COUNTRY.

9. I will VOLUNTEER myself to help in big and small things such as making our classroom’s bulletin board.

10. I will make a list of my New School Year’s Resolutions that will serve as my GOALS to accomplish for the whole year.

Since this is my last year in high school, I want to make the MOST out of it. I want to make this the most MEMORABLE year in my high school life. Even though I’ll be more pressured in school, I’m now ready to take new RESPONSIBILITIES. I know I will enjoy, for I will take those as challenges that will make me BETTER and that will make this school year more EXCITING.

GOOD LUCK to me and to all my fellow students!

START THE CHANGE.

WORK FOR THE CHANGE.

HAVE THE CHANGE.

HMMM, change is good..
nice blog,
i'll be back soon...

Zha, Thanks for visiting.

Thanks for the compliment, Yodz. I'll also visit yours.

I miss this kind of list, a promise-for-a-change list for the future, very optimistic kind of thinking.

I miss being a high school student, too, with a big dream for a change for everything, sometimes too impossible to point that i was betraying myself.

One must note that 'change', the most overused word during campaign elections, is mostly thought as a political gesture. Obama. Personal change is often different from cultural change or political change. A personal change can be abrupt, almost maybe a day one life can change maybe because he won a lotto or something. however, the cultural change, i may presume the change you want to achieve, is a multi-factorial matter concerning of so many things but usually it is reflected in the country's history with specific bearing to arts and tradition.

A personal change is separate to all this, it is an individualistic pursuit, subconsciously centered.

However, personal change may have little effect to the country's cultural change. It is because of its different nature. Cultural change begins when one sees beyond himself (personal) and perceives an alternate reality of his country. It's the liberation of the mind.

I believe that in order for a country to change one must free oneself from the personal and see beyond himself.

This can only be done by becoming an artist.

Ciao!

nice job...still continue doing change is good. Change is practically the only constant thing in this world, right? :D

I'm starting to dislike school... :/

Well, you'll probably have a certain idea on why I don't like school that much when you read my new post...
